My work at Conntac

Employment period: November 2019 - Present

As a full-stack software engineer at Conntac, my development work covers our apps, web services and infrastructure. I also contribute my knowledge in complex business domains to the overall system architecture. For new features, I'm closely collaborating with our business customers who appreciate my ways of working, my direct, open communication and problem sovling attitude.

My projects at Conntac:

  • M-net Entry: My first project at Conntac was the M-net Entry app which we successfully delivered from scratch as a small four-persons team. This app enhances safety for technicians working on remote locations (like datacenters). It provides a smart dead-man's switch connected to a web service used by M-net security center employees. The service triggers an alarm in the security center if a technician does not report back in time. Apart from developing the app, backend and infrastructure, I had the role of a tech lead driving technical decisions in collaboration with the team.
  • Self-service Solution: After the successful launch of the M-net Entry app, I joined the team building the Conntac Self-service Solution. I'm now responsible for its infrastructure and for developing new features in close collaboration with our clients.

Since I'm living in Schleswig-Holstein (northern Germany) and Conntac is located in Bavaria (southern Germany), I worked almost entirely remotely from the beginning: I travelled to Augsburg once per month for five days and spent the remaining time in home office. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit us, we already had our collaboration tools setup for remote work which allowed the whole company to switch to full home office mode quickly.
